Hunter x Hunter Blu-ray – Complete Series (1999) follows Gon Freecss, a cheerful and determined boy who discovers that his absent father is alive and has become a legendary Hunter.
Wanting to understand the path his father chose, Gon leaves Whale Island and begins a journey to become a professional Hunter himself.
His first major challenge is the dangerous Hunter Exam, where candidates must demonstrate intelligence, endurance, courage, survival skills and combat ability.
During the exam, Gon meets several companions who soon become an important part of his journey.
Killua Zoldyck is a remarkably talented boy raised within a powerful family of assassins. Despite his extraordinary abilities, he wants to choose his own future rather than follow the path prepared for him.
Kurapika is driven by a personal mission connected to the destruction of his clan, while Leorio pursues his own ambitions despite hiding a compassionate and loyal personality beneath his outward attitude.
The friendship between Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio becomes one of the central elements of the story as each character follows different goals while supporting the others.
Hunter x Hunter Blu-ray combines adventure, action, fantasy and strategic battles within a world filled with Hunters, dangerous criminals and individuals possessing extraordinary abilities.
The journey extends far beyond the Hunter Exam as Gon and his companions encounter new challenges, competitions and increasingly powerful opponents.
Each adventure introduces different rules, environments and dangers that force the characters to rely on intelligence and strategy as much as physical strength.
Gon remains motivated by his desire to find his father and understand what makes the life of a Hunter important enough to keep him away from his family.
Killua gradually questions the expectations placed upon him by the Zoldyck family while discovering the value of friendship and personal freedom.
Kurapika continues pursuing justice for his fallen clan, placing him in conflict with dangerous criminal forces connected to his past.
Leorio develops alongside the group while maintaining his determination to achieve the future he has chosen for himself.
Hunter x Hunter Blu-ray places strong emphasis on character development, friendship and personal ambition while building a world where every Hunter follows a different purpose.
The series combines intense battles with tactical confrontations in which observation, planning and understanding an opponent can be as important as raw power.
Its story moves between adventure, comedy, fantasy and darker conflicts while allowing the main characters to grow through the consequences of their choices.
Hunter x Hunter Blu-ray presents the complete 1999 anime series for viewers interested in classic shonen adventure, strategic battles, fantasy and character-driven Japanese animation.
This Hunter x Hunter Blu-ray Complete Series edition brings together Gon Freecss and his companions as they pursue their goals across a dangerous world of Hunters, rivals and extraordinary challenges.

An incredible purchase. I am so proud to own this

The menu uses a still from the Heavens Arena arc, which is a nice choice given the arc’s central place in the story. EuroAnime’s design references the content.

The 1999 HxH uses hand-painted backgrounds that this scan preserves beautifully. You can see brush texture in the trees. EuroAnime’s restoration team did exceptional work.

The 5.1 Japanese audio track has proper channel separation – you can hear the direction of the Ants in the background during the Chimera Ant arc. EuroAnime’s mix is immersive.

The 1999 HxH has a charm the remake doesn’t quite match. This transfer honors the hand-drawn animation.
KurapikaChain 🇺🇸 –
The disc splits the series at the natural Yorknew arc break, not mid-arc. EuroAnime’s authoring team understood the show’s structure.
NobunagaSamurai 🇺🇸 –
The subtitle track preserves the specific honorifics used by different characters. Small detail, but it shows EuroAnime’s translators understood the social dynamics.
